Canadian Healthy Vending Hits Manufacturing Milestone

Calgary, AB; Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) March 27, 2013

Canadian Healthy Vending hit a manufacturing milestone with its 1000th Max! Healthy Vending Centre installed since the Fall of 2011. The Max! vending program provides healthy snack options as its focus. It has proven itself a success at businesses, schools and workplaces across Canada, and Max! machines can be found in every province.

Iain Lovell of Calgary, Alberta, the operator of the 1000th machine, says, Max! Canadian Healthy Vending created a machine that is just plain cool. The fresh graphics and LCD screen draw you in.

The 1,000th machine is located at First Calgary Financials Administration office. The organization is the ninth largest credit union in Canada, with nearly 500 employees working in the greater Calgary area. Jimmy Berrios, Facility Administrator for First Calgary Financial, commented, The health and well-being of our employees is extremely important to us. The Max! Healthy Vending Centre has been positively received because it provides our employees with a variety of healthy snacking choices.

The trend toward more health-conscious snacking in Canada has been a challenge for traditional vending companies, who have reacted by adding the occasional healthier item to their standard fare. Vendors are discovering that meeting these new consumer demands requires a different approach. Progressive companies like Canadian Healthy Vending recognize that a true healthy snacking program means offering a range of healthy products that serve different diets and tastes.

Max! machines make use of cutting-edge technology to efficiently satisfy the needs of todays more health-conscious consumer. The high-resolution LCD display on the machine promotes and provides nutritional information about Max! healthy products. The Max! Menu System allows users to browse products and make requests from their local operators, and the remote monitoring capability built into each Max! machine allows operators to monitor sales selections, make inventory decisions from their web browser and quickly update stock at individual locations.

During off-hours, Canadian Healthy Vending Centres have energy-saving technology to minimize the energy used by lights and vending functions.

Max! machines look after the consumer with the Health Guard Function, based on safe food handling policies in Canadian jurisdictions. For example, with perishable items, temperature monitoring ensures that only fresh, safe products are sold.

The phenomenal success weve experienced is a strong indicator that Canadians are ready for healthier snacks at work, school and play. The popularity of the Max! Canadian Healthy Vending Centres is also due to the high quality experience the up-to-date interface provides todays information-savvy consumers. It seems like only a few weeks ago we were discussing the concept and completing our prototypes. Now were ready to install our next 1000! Shaun Casey, VP Marketing, Canadian Healthy Vending

Fresh Healthy Vending Offers Nutritious Snacks to Houston Schools Supporting City Council Initiative

(PRWEB) March 19, 2013

January, the Houston City Council approved a nutritious meal program for children ages 6 to 13 from low-income families enrolled in after-school activities. A grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture funds the program to feed children at 53 area community centers. Fresh Healthy Vending is encouraged to see the new program in place. Healthy food for hungry people is part of the companys strategy of providing wholesome snacks and beverages from vending machines throughout the country.

Alan Rigo, a Franchisee with Fresh Healthy Vending in Houston, has 23 machines in 20 locations; about half of them are in public, private and charter schools. The machines are stocked with all-natural, organic and preservative-free snacks and beverages to make healthy choices easy for students and to ensure that nutrient-rich selections are available.

Its important to expose all school children to the healthy options. Rigo said. They can become familiar with them early, and hopefully, maintain those good habits as they grow into adults. In many cases, healthier choices are seldom available and, sadly, even less so in lower- income areas. All products available from Fresh Healthy Vending machines comply with healthy food guidelines and meet or exceed standards set by the USDA.

Fresh Healthy Vending is proud to support the Houston initiative that improves the quality of nutrition for school children, Rigo stated. Supplementing basic nourishment with whole- some snacks outside of regular meals is important, it promotes healthy eating habits. This is one of the biggest challenges our country faces regarding the health and well-being of youth, it isnt enough to only promote active lifestyles at our schools.

Children need to be encouraged to take an active interest in their health and what goes into their bodies at an early age, Rigo commented, this is an important tool in tackling the national obesity epidemic as well as other health risks like diabetes and heart disease.

Jornae Nevels is involved with one of Houstons schools too. She is the coordinator for Health Corps at Sharpstown High School. Health Corps is a non-profit organization established by Dr. Mehmet Oz and his wife Lisa, to combat the childhood obesity crisis. It uses peer mentoring in school and community programs that target high-need populations. By exploring the complex, underlying causes of the obesity crisis and discovering and communicating solutions, it is leading a nationwide movement toward a new generation of healthy young people.

A recent college grad, Nevels enjoys teaching classes each week with a health message involving nutrition, fitness and mental strength. She regards herself as a health nut who has a passion for promoting health and preventing and alleviating health conditions.

We go through it in our classes, they now know what empty calories are and they didnt before, she said. She enjoys mentoring students, she shows them how to read food labels, and leads them in yoga and cooking classes. They set up health fairs and activities that involve friends and family, or they may head out on a field trip to Whole Foods Market. Many of the students didnt even know a place like this existed, Nevels said. These kids are hungry, and they need to get something to eat. The choices available in Fresh Healthy Vending machines are good for them and fit with what we teach. At first, they were not familiar with the products, but now theres always someone in front of the machines.

Theyre a great way to introduce the kids to new food items, Nevels said, Im going to sample out the Izze drinks for them next week. They stop me in the hall and say I havent had a soda for a week Ms. Nevels! and theyre all excited about it.

Fresh Healthy Vending machines in Houston area schools are some of the thousands of vending locations throughout the country offering healthy snack food and beverage choices. Keeping minds and bodies in better shape are part of the directives for Fresh Healthy Vending, the first and largest franchisor of healthy vending machines. Fresh Healthy Vendings quest is to help Americans become healthier by providing more nutritious and wholesome snacks and drinks purchased through vending machines. Experts at creating profitable vending businesses for franchisees, they also offer the Fresh Healthy Caf? machine, this unique vending machine dispenses gourmet, organic coffee drinks together with signature healthy snack options.

With the fight against obesity and sugary sodas taking a conscious route among all layers of the society, the latest trend in the vending machines is the emergence of healthy vending machines. The market is witnessing an increasing installation of such machines to meet consumers’ growing demand for healthy foods including functional foods and organic products. Demand for these healthy vending machines is more predominant in schools and other educational institutes following new laws and standards implemented by the federal government such as ban on sodas and sweetened sports drinks and setting nutritional standards for snacks sold across all schools. Further, with rising environmental awareness across the world, against the backdrop of energy resource depletion, there is an increasing emphasis on energy efficient vending machines.

At present, the vending machinery market continues to confront several challenges including increasing commodity prices and energy costs with persistent headwinds in major developed geographies of the US and Europe weighing down heavily on overall industry growth. However, the drop in sales has been offset to a certain extent by the healthy growth witnessed in developing markets of Asia and Latin America. In addition, the severe impact of the prevailing economic instability has been fairly minimized by the industrys diversity in the product mix vended. The recent recession interestingly has spurred certain factors in favor of driving up the business case for vending machines. For instance, frugal consumer purchasing behavior has encouraged the use of vending machine cafes. In the long term, the market is expected to gain from renaissance of demand fundamentals such as increasing employment levels, growing disposable incomes, and strengthening consumer confidence.

As stated by the new market research report on Vending Machines, the United States represents the single largest market for vending machines in terms of installed base. Asia-Pacific represents the fastest growing market for vending machines, owing to the steady economic growth, changing consumer behavior, rapid urbanization, and increasing standards of living, particularly across countries such as China and India. A growing clan of modern population in these countries is using vending machines making the industry an indispensable part of modern life.

Segment-wise, Beverage Vending Machines represent the largest as well as the fastest growing segment in the global vending machines market. Increased varieties of and steady demand for beverages is a key demand driver for beverage vending machines, with the largest consumer base being in offices and industrial facilities. Although sales of carbonated beverages have slowed, consumers have shown steady demand for hot beverages like tea and coffee, thus making hot beverage vending machines lesser exposed to the cold desolation of the slowdown. Cigarette Vending Machines market has come under siege due to strict regulatory code that seeks to curb under-age smoking. Sprout Healthy Vending Adds Eugene, Oregon Area To Growing National Locations

Irvine, California (PRWEB) November 07, 2011

Sprout Healthy Vending, a national leader in taking the vending industry in a healthy direction at work, school and in the community, announces the expansion into Junction City, Oregon and the Eugene-area with Operators Sandy and Dan McIntosh.

The McIntoshes were very interested in getting involved in the health food vending industry and providing healthy alternatives to their community. They realized that there arent many options readily available to the public and wanted to change that. The absolute lack of any healthy snack or drink vending options available in our area is what motivated us to get started, said Sandy McIntosh. The couple agreed to make a conceded effort to start living a healthier lifestyle, as well as inspire others to do so.

Our community will benefit by the positive effect this can have on their short- and long-term health situations, added Dan McIntosh. When we decided to make healthier options available, we set out researching companies that shared our desires. After several months, we decided on Sprout Healthy Vending primarily due to their outstanding business model and the gut feeling we had after talking with Co-founder Chris Wyland.

The McIntoshes report a wonderful experience thus far and feel that partnering with Sprout Healthy Vending was a no-brainer. Sprout Healthy Vending is an industry leader in providing excellent healthy snacks and drinks for everyones enjoyment, said Sandy McIntosh. Their business model is outstanding, and they are always searching for viable ways to improve on their mission. Also, we could not be happier with the Sprout staff members. Their helpful attitude has been such a benefit to our brand new vending business infrastructure.

Chris Wyland, Sprout co-Founder echoes the sentiment, We are very excited to add Dan and Sandy to our expanding group of Sprout Operators. The enthusiasm and positive thinking that they bring to the industry will definitely play a large part in the success of their business. I cant wait to see the operation grow throughout the Eugene area.

Wyland adds, Whether its Eugene, Houston, Miami or Pittsburgh Healthy Vending is being embraced with open arms by locations across the country.

Dan and Sandy are excited about the future and have a positive outlook on the continued success of their machines. They feel that the large demand for this type of vending in their surrounding areas will carry on. Adds Dam McIntosh, The Sprout machines just seem to speak that healthy and nutritious food is inside here, just come have a look!
